Pop star and AIDS activist Elton John wrote a letter on Tuesday to Florida Gov. Rick Scott pleading with him to not change income requirements to his state’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program. The ADAP program allows HIV-positive people to obtain life-saving medications for free or at a discounted price. Florida is considering lowering the financial requirements for the program, so people making over a certain income threshold would be bumped from the program–1,600 could be kicked off Florida’s ADAP if the change moves forward.
